On February 27, 2026, GRACE (Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment) released its final report following an independent investigation into past leadership at Paradise Alliance Church, initiated by past leaders and congregants.
We have chosen to make this report publicly available in the interest of transparency and integrity.
The findings make clear that harm occurred within our church community. For those who experienced spiritual abuse, intimidation, manipulation, or any form of mistreatment, we acknowledge these hurts and are deeply sorry. It is clear that the impact of these actions are deep and real. We grieve with those who were wounded, and we acknowledge that trust was broken.
We are not posting this report to reopen wounds or old conflict, but to ensure that truth is not hidden and that growth is not avoided. The benefit of this report is not merely in understanding the past, but in learning from it. It gives us clear recommendations and practical steps so that we do not repeat the same failures.
Since these concerns first came to light, and especially in recent months, we have taken meaningful steps toward change:
Elder Training and Development – Our newly appointed elders have gone through and will continue ongoing training, including trauma-informed principles and biblical frameworks for healthy shepherding.
Commitment to Transparency – We are strengthening governance structures (with support of the district) and decision-making processes to ensure clarity, accountability, and shared leadership.
Healthy Hiring Practices – Lessons from this season have shaped how we approach pastoral search, staff oversight, and future leadership development.
Clear Policies and Safeguards – We are reviewing and implementing best practices recommended in the report to foster a culture of safety and mutual respect.
Ongoing Discipleship and Formation – We are investing in leadership formation that emphasizes humility, plurality, and Christlike service.
We are a church that believes growth is possible. Healing is our goal. Peace is our hope. Renewal is our commitment.
If you were hurt during this season and would like to speak with someone, our elders are available. We desire to listen, to seek reconciliation where possible, and to walk toward healing together.
If you have questions about the report or about the steps we are taking moving forward, please contact the church office. We are committed to openness and ongoing dialogue.
Paradise Alliance Church is stepping into a new season, one grounded in accountability, strengthened by hard lessons, and anchored in the grace of Jesus Christ.
Sincerely,
PAC Leadership Team
