Overseas Missions
This church-wide missions ministry is based on the admonition and challenge that Jesus gave all believers two thousand years ago, “...you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). The goal of a missions ministry is to rise up men and women to see God’s calling in their lives for the purpose of bringing glory to God and worship from all people; to be Christ’s missionaries “here, there, and everywhere” according to the Acts 1:8 derivative.
Our church sees that this calling is to be lived out in whatever vocation they may find themselves doing. The missions minstry’s aim is to give our church the opportunity to evaluate lives with the Word of God so they can receive from Him their unique calling for their life. As Christ said in the Great Commission, “therefore, go and many disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19), we need to guide our church in the understanding that they have a great opportunity to impact the Kingdom through their obedience to Him.
Through this commitment, our church will discover that they can share God’s Word here, in their home towns and daily lives; there, in neighboring communities, surrounding counties and states; and/or everywhere, in foreign countries around the world -- all equally important. This must be a priority in our lives and experienced through the power of the Holy Spirit and not through our own efforts.
